Founding Partner

Arundhati is an architect, registered in New Zealand, Australia and India. Prior to establishing her own firm, Arundhati worked with CZWG Architects in London and Cook Sargisson & Pirie Architects in Auckland.

Her principal work has focused on design and execution of high quality residential, mixed used developments, and hospitals. A key theme in Arundhati’s work is the sustainable expression of modernity through the progressive use of local materials and traditional practices. In line with this interest, she has recently designed and executed a series of residences and hospitals within, and on the periphery of New Delhi that are widely recognized landmarks.

As the founder of the multi-disciplinary Solidum & Stars Guild LLP, Arundhati has established a design focused practice that draws inspiration through genuine collaboration with clients from inception through execution. She is fascinated with how space, within a local context, shapes social and environmental interactions, which is reflected in Solidum’s obsession with understanding client context.

Co-Founder & Business Head

Karan spearheads all commercial, operational, and partnership activities at Solidum.

With 8 years of heading scaled projects in a healthcare setting he has established a reputation for a high standard of delivery within constrained timelines and challenging locales. His passion for design is reflected in his uncompromising approach and the talented team of engineers, managers, contractors, and artisans he has assembled. As an extension of his personal interests, Karan also oversees sourcing and execution of bespoke commissions of art, furniture, antiques, and high-end furnishings, primarily from India and Europe.

Karan is also a successful businessman with over two decades of experience starting, operating, growing, and exiting a textile processing unit and specialty chemical trading business in India, and a wholesale & retail design furnishing business in Auckland. He continues to apply this commercial acumen to client commissions, maximizing value delivered and ensuring a sustainable operation for Solidum.
